Bladder Infections

Bladder infections, like any infections, are a sign that your immune system is having a difficult time keeping you in balance in the presence of bacteria. One of the first things I look at are immune system stressors such as too much sugar or alcohol intake, which supresses the immune system. Chronic stress can also cause immune supression due to the adrenal stress hormones that are dumped into your system during a stressful situation. This promotes delayed immune reactions and more severe signs of infection.

I also check the pH parameters, such as whether the urine is too alkaline or acid. If that's the case, I do things to modulate the pH of the urine to a more normal healthy state, thereby improving the chances of maintaining a healthy urinary tract. This pH testing is simply done with a pH paper strip placed in the mouth. The balance of acidifying and alkalinizing foods you are eating can also affect your overall pH. Consult the Acid/Alkaline Food Chart to see if you are eating a balanced diet.

Nutrients effective in helping this type of infection pattern include Cataplex A-C-P, used to support the epithelial tissues which line the entire urinary tract, giving them more resistance to infection. Thymex gives support to the thymus gland, which helps direct antibodies to aid in the immune response to get rid of the infection.
